Opened 1973--during the extreme politcal turmoil days of the Viet Nam War, The Stoneleigh P was a meeting place for Dallas' creative professionals, liberal politicians and celebraties. It's still a place where women can go alone and not fear any hassles. There is a current magazine rack for those who wish to eat and read in peace. The menu specializes in custom burgers served on pumpernickle
bread with homemade recipe mayonaise and mustard...great salads and daily specials offer a great variety. At night it becomes a restaurant and neighborhood bar with regulars of 30 yrs. Occassional parties feature live music..but the main point are the jukeboxes with ecclectic
classics from blues to Carusso. Their is no fried food or ketchup.
You might run into famous celebrities who stay across the street at Stoneleigh Hotel. |
