I am from a family of seafaring souls from the Boston area, and so fresh seafood prepared well was a mainstay of my diet as a child. I searched for a long time for a good seafood restaurant here in the Philadelphia area and found this place by accident. Lew's is an absolute gem of a place for seafood lovers. The seafood is absolutely FRESH, prepared to order, and the fried items have a yummy delicate batter. The chowder is wonderful--creamy, thick, slightly sweet (as it should be) and full of clams. The buffalo wings are also very good. There are only a few tables here since most of the area is taken up by the bar. As the above reviewer noted, it is a very friendly place. |

Not fancy, but a place that has a lot of locals that are very friendly to all. Seafood is all fresh! Friday and Saturday nights are busy and you might have to wait to be seated, but the wait is worth it, all prepared to order, not steam table stuff. Also, has a take-out store for seafood and sandwiches. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did. |
