Not a busy time....but took waitress almost 10 minutes to decide she should stop wiping tables and come get our order. Was not told specials - as all other subsequent customers were. Although the item I ordered came with two sides, I was never asked which two I would like and had to stop the waitress on a trip to another table to ask for my sides to be clarified. Waited nearly a half an hour for our food and finally walked out and went to Wendy's. |

I's been several years since I visited a Bennigan's so it was like visiting for the first time. The decor and overall ambiance is basically the same as the competition (Friday's, Hops, Appleby's etc.) but with an Irish flavor (lots of paper shamrocks).
It was just myself and I was in the mood for a burger so I ordered and found out that they cook all burgers "medium well done" only! What a travesty!
Apparently, according to my waitress, they are very concerned about E. coli so they have to overcook the burgers to the point of tastelessness. Well, not quite tasteless, it tasted like fine cardboard.
Fortunately, the burger (I ordered their "Wheelhouse burger" / everything needs to have a name these days) came with an interesting "patty" of fried mozarella which was actually pretty wonderful. Some marinara sauce was on the meat itself and served to save the meal.
Heretically, I had a chocolate milkshake instead of the requisite beer and, other than being small, it was quite fine.
You would think that if they were so concerned about bacteria in the food they would take greater care when they order and inspect the raw materials. Perhaps their supplier is not very reliable? And, if that's the case, how come they have no problem with a "rare" steak? Interesting speculation... |
